How Waist Training Fit Into My Weight-Loss Journey (Interview)
Posted by by hourglass angel on Jun 18th 2018
Natalia is a stay-at-home mom who enjoys working out and staying fit. But even after two years of consistent exercise, she realized she was "stuck" with certain trouble spots, like love handles around her waist. That's when she decided to supplement her weight-loss journey with waist training.
By wearing a waist trainer every day, combined with exercise and healthy eating, Natalia was finally able to start seeing the results she's been working toward. By week 5, she started noticing changes to her figure, including improvement to her obliques. Check out this one-on-one interview with Natalia to see how she did it.
- Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a stay at home mom to a 4-year-old and an Army wife. My favorite hobbies include spending time with my family and working out when I can.
- Why did you decide to try waist training?
I decided to try waist training two months ago because when I lost a couple pounds a year ago, my “troubled areas” were still my obliques (love handles), and I needed something to help with that area.
- What garments did you use, and why?
I used the “Highest Compression Workout Waist Trainer by TrueShapers 1063” and the reason I chose this garment was because I try to work out as much as I can, and I felt that would be more comfortable to use during my exercise.
- What were your first impressions?
When I first tried on the waist trainer I was in my room in front of my mirror. My first impression and thoughts were “WOW, this feels amazing!” It wasn’t too tight and it felt/fit perfectly.
- What was your waist training routine?
I wore my garment in the beginning for about 2-3 hours, and as the weeks went by I would increase an hour. I also wore it before and during my workout.
- Did the garment meet your expectations? How so?
Honestly, the garment helped a little, but didn’t really meet my goal. I definitely need more time and to work more on that area.
- What were your diet and fitness habits during your waist training journey?
I was working out during the week for 30-45 minutes a day and during the weekends. I wasn’t really eating too healthy, but I was eating smaller portions and not eating too bad.
- In the past, have you faced any challenges with weight-loss and/or fitness?
About 2 years ago was when I started my weight loss journey, it was going well until last year I was stuck. All I was able to do was maintain and build a little bit of muscle. Wearing the garment helped trim down a little fat on my obliques.
- When did you start seeing results?
The first couple of weeks I knew I wouldn’t see results immediately and knew it would take some time. Around the 5th and 6th weeks, I slowly started seeing results.
- Has anyone else noticed your results?
My husband and my friend were the only ones who knew about my challenge. They were both supportive and noticed some results in my waist.
- What would you say to others who are thinking about trying waist training?
My tip to others who try waist training would be to definitely not expect immediate results. My words of encouragement would be “always focus on how far you’ve come, rather than how far you have left to go.”
